Jerry Kaffka is a retired Colonel of the U.S. Air Force who has completed over thirty years of service. He began his career in air defense operations in Vietnam in 1965. He then transferred into intelligence in 1969 and spent the majority of his career in related assignments, with additional postings in political-military affairs and unit command. Colonel Kaffka served as Country Director for Turkey, Greece and Cyprus in the  European/NATO Policy Directorate, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense. Before his retirement, he served as Defense and Air Attaché at the US Embassy in Ankara.

Upon his retirement, Colonel Kaffka returned back to Turkey to establish and manage an office for a Triton Systems Corporation, where his primary focus was developing offset programs for a variety of clients. He later returned back to the U.S. and spent a number of years for different private corporations in related areas. Colonel Kaffka is currently the acting co-chair of the Defense and Security Affairs committee at the ATC. His participation has been characterized by strategic thinking and tireless efforts towards increasing the credibility and visibility of this organization as well as the commercial ties between the U.S. and Turkey.
